I don’t do small talk. I don’t do sugarcoating. And I damn sure don’t do performative healing. & this? This is not your Grandma’s blog. This blog might call you out… and that’s the point.
If you’re here, you’re either on your own journey of unlearning, healing, and growing, or you’re about to be. Either way—welcome.
What This Blog Is About
This space is for the people who:
✔️ Are tired of just surviving and actually want to start living.
✔️ Have spent their whole lives being “strong” and are finally asking, but at what cost?
✔️ Know that breaking cycles isn’t just about talking about trauma—it’s about actually doing the work.
✔️ Need reminders that softness is power, rest is a right, and you don’t owe the world your suffering.
✔️ Are figuring it out as they go—just like I am.
What You’ll Find Here
- Real, raw conversations on healing, self-love, identity, and breaking the toxic shit we’ve been conditioned to accept
- Hard truths that might make you uncomfortable, but only because they hit too close to home. Trust me, I’m talking to me, too.
- Lessons I’ve learned (the hard way) about love, self-worth, and rewriting my own story
- The occasional deep dive into the media that shaped me—because healing doesn’t always come from therapy, sometimes it comes from Steven Universe and Harry Potter. #BlerdLife
Why I’m Writing This
I spent too much time thinking I had to earn peace. That I had to be productive enough, healed enough, worthy enough before I could just exist in softness. But the truth is you don’t need to earn rest, love, or self-acceptance. You just need to decide.
And maybe something I write here will help you make that decision for yourself.
So read, reflect, feel what you need to feel. And if something here speaks to you? Stick around. Take what you need. Leave what you don’t.
A Black Girl Wrote This—& you should read it. 🤎
